About

An integrations studio with a bias toward shipping.

Sway Integrations is an independent studio based in Fredericksburg, Virginia. We build software for operators who’ve hit the limits of what their vendors will do for them.

Why we exist.

Every business tool has gaps. Software vendors build the 80% of features that serve their entire market, and the remaining 20% — the workflow-specific, industry-specific, edge-case stuff — is what makes your business actually run. That 20% is where Sway lives.

We started Sway because the same conversation kept happening: an operator would describe a real problem with a real cost, the vendor’s answer was “it’s on the roadmap” or “here’s an enterprise tier,” and the operator was stuck. Most of those gaps don’t require enterprise software. They require a small, well-built piece of glue.

That’s what we build.

How we think about the work.

  • Ship working software, not roadmaps.

Every engagement ends with something running in production. We don’t do strategy decks that turn into nothing.

  • Lock-in is the enemy.

Our tools work alongside the software you already use. We don’t replace your processor, your CRM, or your platform. We make them work together better.

  • Local-first, when it makes sense.

Cloud is fine when cloud is the right answer. For workflows that happen at a counter, on a workstation, or in a shop, local-first software is often more reliable, faster, and cheaper.

  • Document everything.

Code without documentation is a future invoice. We hand over working systems and the docs to maintain them.

The person behind Sway.

Sway Integrations is run by Rob Dunn, a payments-industry veteran based in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Rob has spent more than two decades in merchant services and software — most recently leading ISV partner solutions and monetization programs, helping software companies figure out how payments, hardware, and vertical software actually fit together. He’s sat on both sides of the table: the processor pitching the integration, and the operator who has to live with it.

Sway exists because of what that vantage point kept revealing: real workflow problems with real costs, answered by vendors with “it’s on the roadmap.” Most of those gaps don’t need enterprise software — they need a small, well-built tool that ships. So Rob builds them: signature capture that doesn’t care who your processor is, payment tracking that reads what your shop system already knows, barcode labels straight off the register.

You can find him on LinkedIn, where he writes about ISV growth and embedded payments — or just start a conversation.
